Ho Hum....

Hi all,

no new pics of Phillipines today - mostly the ones left are of flowers etc -

It's been a while since I don't have anything specific to write about.

Thought I'd update you all on my day to day life....

Well training is going well - my "students" are eager to learn so training is good.
They are always challenging me to learn Tagalog so I am enjoying that!
(I know my numbers from 1-7) and a few other words!

Scrapbooking - I'm having severe withdrawal issues - not sure if my readers have ever scrapbooked (many of you have) - but you can also liken it to Eating - when you don't eat for a long time as soon as you see a piece of food you eat too quickly and anything at all --- well same with scrapbooking - I mean not surprising - it truly is one of the "basic needs in life - eat, sleep, sex, scrapbooking, exercise. OK so back to my "deprivation" s0 - I'm withdrawing - I didn't bring anything with me but photos (with the idea of sketching) and black pens (zig- - I mean everyone carries their sbook pens with them right??). So what do I do? I'm on a mission to find Sbook supplies - and was successful --found paper - OK so it's not 2 bugs or basic grey- but I found paper! So of course I had to buy it - cause I mean I'm starving here!! LOL

Of course I don't have a cutter here - bought an olfa knife - metal ruler and of course a cutting mat (sorry J I'm trying out your mat - hope you don't mind)

And I'm scrapbooking! Its amazing how much you can do with not alot!! And I kind of decided this book will be rather "minimalistic" as I feel that the "true" Filipino is minimal - they believe in the church - family - etc. Nothing flashy! (ok ok wes I know about the red light district!)

Here are pics of a sbook page I did - OK understand I'm on limited resources - one page is part of the album (still figuring how to page protect in this album - ) and the other is a smaller book that I'm making of the "flowers/fauna" that I see.

I basically will be (or should be able) to finish up most of the book - and I will leave "cricut" items until I come home!! (in less than 2 weeks!)

So the post isn't "flashy" but it's a bit of Me!
Have a fantastic day!!

I like it Sue! Specially the flora ones ... nothing to detract from the beauty of the plant.

Taking SB supplies with you ... don't make that mistake in BC. You'll be there even longer!

LOVE them!!! I was just thinking the other day about how when I started scrapbooking, I had maybe one small rubbermaid container - and it held *everything* that I needed! album, paper, cutting mat, blade etc etc -- now...frig...I can fill a room - but don't have a room to fill....tis becoming an issue! lol
pages look great :)

actually surprisingly enough I haven't even cracked the Handwriting book while here - I'm a doodler from way back (when doodling wasn't cool ---LOL) another funny thing - my second scrapbook(wayy back in the day) had rubon's in it and I was like...these are cool - but only did like 2 pages...now everyone does rubons!!

I'll defintely take to BC - for sure!! trying to figure out how to take Cricut - either carryon or luggage....we'll see.

Susan, I'm a latecomer to your blog but I heard about it at the crop on Saturday & have been catching up on my reading ever since! Glad to see a small thing like no supplies and a foreign country didn't keep you from sb'ing!

I really like the brown paper album - it looks really good! The other layout you did - love the clean and simple lines. That is my favourite style - the pics are the focus. Can't wait to see this close up and in person!
