We are at a stand off.........

So K  has decided that she is 'the boss' of her self and she will do and say whatever she wants. (not always a bad thing...but see examples)

Example 1:
LA common assessment comes up in school - K  tells teacher "no i'm not doing it."....T says 'why?' K says 'i dont know'.  And doesnt do it.  LA teacher gets guidance counsellor - and she has a chat with K - Note that they did not advise me that this occurred....(see example 2) and she had to go to GC because this was 'completely out of charachter for her....UMMMMM maybe you should have called me? ? Luckily nothing terrible happened....

Example 2:
French presentation - tells T that she is not done and doesnt know why .... T calls me...when K gets home i tell her she needs to do her / finish her French presentation...she says 'No. I'm not doing it.'.....anyhow this is how i end up finding out abut Example 1 - (yes I was pissed).  There is a huge blow up - she 'runs away' from home.....we go to get her (gave her/us time to 'cool off') and as we get to where she is and pull over a bit a cop is coming by, turns his lights on and tells us to pull off the road a bit more...I took the opportunity to ask him to pull over as 'we may need him'.

He goes on to tell her that she has to obey our rules.  That's the law.  He wasnt goign to take her from her home. Blah blah...

So i go see guidance and have an appt with my doctor to see her about tests and counseling (I wont get into details here - but we feel it may be some underlying 'stuff').

so that was Tuesday....Wed/thurs/Fri she is just fine...even Sat she is good....Tara and her go to a movie and we pick them up at 10pm.  They get in the car.  I ask them both to floss their teeth.  Well Kailie says "no" i'm not doing it.  I'm like - Kay really you gotta floss your teeth - (she came from the dentist with 4+ cavities) - she's like "*I* dont *have* to floss my teeth....it's not life or death"......anyhow this goes on...and shes being downright rude ....we get home she throws the Dental floss in the garbage....well her father loses it.....
 this is ridiculous....WW3.....

Well in the end I tell her basically I'm expecting an apology from her .....(for the yelling, screaming and going on....it's dental floss...tell me the reason you wont do it - that makes sense....her excuse - she was too tired AND 'negotiate' the issue rather than blatantly saying "NO".).....and that i will not forget the look on her face and will not accept this behavior and I wont just forget about this.....She needs to start respecting her parents and authority in general...........

So the stand off is on.........

Could be underlying"stuff". Or it could be that she's a teenage girl and she's hitting her snotty stride ... for the next few years.
