A weekly basis...that's not too bad...

So I had a great weekend - although I didn't get to go to the US on Sunday as planned-I still need to "run" over for fabric soon - perhaps Wes will take me?

Ever start out a week ok then have it crumble around you??

Well it started out yesterday - pretty good - it was report card day for both my girls.

One is in Middle school and one in elementary school - one has no problems in school and the other struggles. And in a world where such a high emphasis is place on "grades" - this is so difficult. We review each report card - tell them both that as long as they tried their hardest we are "good" with their marks.

We let the one that struggles know that we are not happy with the "C" on one subject because the teacher noted "assignments not all passed in" "should come in for extra help" - we let her know that this is NOT acceptable. (insert) We know that we probably are at fault here too - not keeping on her continuously - but we did tell her to go for extra help - which obviously she has not. I understand she has no interest in school whatsoever - but she needs to try (this is an ongoing issue - and I have had numerous suggestions - thanks in advance ;<) ) I tell her - that permission slip for the interview needs to go to school and be passed in on time - - Sooo we don't make a huge deal but let her know she needs to pull up her socks..... K (other dd)- goes on to tell me - I'm always at work - all the time like - (I know she's exagerating - and anyone that knows me knows that I have really worked on this - however Christmas is coming and NDS's are not cheap!) So...this morning comes and the girls go off to school (Wes lets me sleep in - it really is best for all).......so I get up - what is on the table? ? T's book - and the slip I specifically told her NOT to forget....so I have to drop this off at school this morning..NOT IMPRESSED! Punishment - banned to her room and no Nintendo DS - let's see if this works...of course Wes tells me how he feels bad for her........ughhh....

Anyhow - work is work....haven't heard anything about the position I applied for....
I have heard (from a co-worker) "that's not in my job description" today - hmmm all the work is moving to Manila so I guess you want to walk that road? WhateveR!

Anyhow needed to vent - feel better now!

Considering your week crumbled around you and it is only Tuesday isn't that great!

I applaud you - not give suggestions. First and formost we have to teach them responsibilty.

Kids always can pull the ol' guilt trip on us can't they!

Being through downsizing myself - the phrase not in my job description burns my butt! In order to make yourself indispensible is to be able to wear many hats.

Hang in there Sue, the girls will make it, your hair will become grey because of it but you all get through it. The punishing sounds like my house, go to your room and think about it, daddy says, that is so mean, let her out.....makes me so mad....
