4 days and counting....

Only 4 days until I leave for Manila..reality is starting to sink in......Leaving my kids, my husband, my friends, my family, my house...for 37 days....for a land over the ocean...which I am told is a "third world country" .... what will it be like? How much Heat can I take? Will it smell? What will I eat? Will they all point and laugh at the fat white girl? Will my students be arrogant asses? Will my students learn what I need them to learn within the alloted time? Will my girls miss me terribly? Will they understand and view this as a positive time in our lives later on? Will Wes miss me terribly? Will he realize that I am truly not a great wife and far worse that i really am unattractive??

No new new years resolutions this year - that are the usual be healthier, be a better mom - and wife of course. Success in my new job ...very selfish new years resolutions are aren't they? Oh well -- sometimes we are selfish...but by having those selfish ones they all revolve around to the three things in this world that I truly care about and will make me a better person for them.

last year's resolutions - same as above - pretty much - how did I do? Well I'm quite proud to say that one in particular I have seen improvement. Last year I really tried to participate more with my sbooking friends and socialize more while cutting down on work = --- I think I've done a pretty good job of that - and of course now I'm going away for 6 months and every second spent in New Brunswick will find me wanting to spend it with my kids....how will I balance this? I will feel really torn...I hope that my friends understand....my kids have to come first and my husband of course -hopefully I'll be able to get together with them in Feb before I go west...

OH forgot about my other resolution....that is to keep my blog up to date....I hope to try to post each day after work - we shall see how I make out!

Well Happy new year all! Best of luck in 2007!

You are an awesome teacher and your students are going to love you. Of course your girls and Wes are going to miss you, just as you are going to miss them. We'd all have to start worrying about you guys if you didn't. And Wes is would never come to "that realization" because it's horse shit. Stop doubting yourself. You know he adores you. You're his lobster.(Boys, I really hope you were a 'Friends' fan or that won't make sense.)

As for spending time with your s-booking friends when you are home in Feb, well of course we will understand! We're your friends and what are friends for? And hey, we can always come visit you at your house so you don't have to be away from your family. You know Wes loves to have all of us invade his house!

As for your blog, you definitely have to keep it up to date. Particularly in Manila. Take lots of pics and post them so we can live vicariously through you!

And that's it form me. Man, I'm long winded tonight.

Hey there sister-friend!! You trip will be scary and all that crap but holy cow are you every going to benefit from it! Your kids will realize just how much they Love and need you and will miss you terribly and Wes...well the Lobster thing pretty much summs it up - I can totally picture Pheobe saying that!! LOL Besides...Us scrappin chicks are everywhere...we're like the all seeing eyes and little Mr. Marthasue will behave himself cuz we're always watching!! LOL Seriously - it's gonna be a great time for all of you and next year, you'll be blogging about how amazing your trip was and how you managed to make it through everything with leaps and bounds and all that stuff. Deep breath - take that first step and the rest will just kinda happen. Do keep your blog updated too - otherwise, we'll all track you down and you can't imagine the hell that air-canada will endure with all 8 zillion scrappers trying to board with theri Heidi Swapp Pokey tools!! LOL Be well my friend - the Universe is as it should be:)

You will be great! Anyone would be a bit anxious about embarking on such an adventure. But it will all work out.
It'll be difficult to be away from your family but call often, send them daily emails, set up a blog just for them and send them lots of pics. Get them to send you lots of pics too.

Don't worry about us. We'll all be here when you get back for good. You have to put your family first. We would all do the same.

We'll make a pact...you keep your blog updated and we'll all make a concentrated effort to keep ours updated so you'll stay in the loop.

Have a wonderful trip and take advantage of the adventure!!

Just thought of something - do you have one of those little things that sits on your computer and lets people see you? I want to call it a web cam, but I don't think that is the correct name. Anyway, I have one that I am not using and my MIL has one that I don't think she uses - do you want to borrow them so that when you connect thru MSN you can all see each other?

You are going to do just fine! The time is going to go faster then the anticipation of getting there.

Your work picked you for a reason Sue. Cause they knew you could do it!

Your family, will miss you. Which I know your struggling with. But you will be BACK! You are doing this for ALL of you not just yourself.

I love the idea of their own blog just for them. You can setup multiple posters on a blog - that way you can all post and put up pictures.

Us, well we are with you every step of the way. If there is anything you need or Wes and the girls need - you know that we are all here!

Hugs, Nick

Have a great time Sue - I know it will be hard but as Nick said it will go by fast. They are very lucky to have someone like you to teach them - share your wonderful personality and fun loving spirit with them and they will benefit so much from that.

We will miss you too - what will we do without MarthaSue :(
We will keep in touch with you through your blog and ours.

Take care
